Houses of Victoria Park

Famous residents

Welcome to our website!

Victoria Park is situated in South Manchester, England, between Rusholme and Longsight. The area has a fascinating history. Formed in 1834, Victoria Park was once a privileged enclosed area, with its own walls and gates, and constables. Today Victoria park is a conservation area at the heart of a multicultural and vibrant community.

Introducing Victoria Park

Our website  has a basic introduction and history to Victoria Park. We include many photographs of the area and information about some former famous residents.

The website is maintained by St Chrysostoms Church local history group. St Chrysostoms Church is the parish church of Victoria Park. The local history group also organises guided walks, with varying themes, in the area.

The next walk is called 'Churches and Chapels of Victoria Park' and is on Saturday, July 17th 2004 at 3pm. Email us for more details.

We hope to make our resources available at St Chrysostoms Church to all who are interested in the local history of the area, and to any with a family history interest.
